EP Review: THEATRE - Incarnate

Seeing Theatre live for the first time opening for Gurriers back in 2025 was love at first sight. Siren like vocals meet brooding, atmospheric instrumentals, exploding into a wall of sound so total it feels physical.

Their debut EP Incarnate captures that exact sensation of being pulled under. Across five tracks, they sketch out a sonic identity that already feels startlingly self‑assured. There’s a clarity of vision here, and the potential for something even bigger undeniable.

The standout – and the gravitational centre of the EP – is "The Fall", their first ever single and still their most devastating. It’s the track where everything Theatre do well converges: the slow‑burn unease, the sudden detonation, the haunting vocals. "The Fall" doesn’t build to a climax so much as cycle through multiple implosions, each one heavier and more consuming. It’s the kind of song that makes you understand why people become loyal to bands before they even have a full discography.

Incarnate
makes one thing unmistakably clear: Theatre understand the art of seduction. Every track pulls you deeper into their world, tightening the thread until you realise you’ve been following their lead the whole time. It’s a first chapter written with the confidence of a band who already know where they’re going.

INCARNATE OUT NOW.
