Part 2 of a Fantastic Debut Securing a Band’s Place in the Big Leagues

The wait is finally over! Balancing Act have released Part 2 of their debut album Who've You Come As and it lands with the confidence of a band who know exactly what they're doing. If you missed our review of Part 1 head on over and check it out before we dive into this one: Album Review: Balancing Act - Who've You Come As (Part 1)

This rollout arrived with a very different energy - in a good way. All in all, it was more cohesive, humming with a cleaner sense of direction. The singles teased a second chapter that wpuld be darker, sexier, and more daring. They weren't lying.

"Sunshinestarts the record as the first single of this rollout and it’s brooding, seductive, and charged with a kind of slow-burn intensity that’s become their signature. "Sunshine" leans into the band’s darker instincts, pairing sultry vocals with a pulsing undercurrent that feels both dangerous and magnetic. As an opener it signals a shift: a second chapter that's moodier and bolder. And that instinct proves right.

Track and single number 2, "Loaded With Pearls", is simply delicious - the sound of a band levelling up in real time. The track rides on a slick drum‑and‑bass groove before erupting into a raspy, explosive chorus that steals the spotlight entirely. The vocals detonate with a raw power that ties the whole track together, making it impossible not to hit repeat. Its the perfect definition of the evolution the band is undergoing.

"It Girl" was one of those tracks you just have to root for, for its title alone. Leaked by the band, never has a link been clicked so quick. "It Girl" is laced to the brim with the sultry sound Balancing Act have been going for with the second part of this album, and it is sublime. Their instrumentals have been on a whole new level for this one. And with a runtime of 3:33, it’s safe to assume the It Girl who inspired this is an icon in her own right. A clear standout.

When the tracklist dropped, I don't think we were the only ones stumped by track 4, "All Yours". Because "All Yours" already exists, and it's a crowd-favourite. We started pondering - was this going to be a rerecord? A live version? An extended cut? Something entirely new that just shared the same name? So "All Yours" quickly shaped up to be the most anticipated song on WYCA. What we got is something far more interesting: the same emotional core, but with production that’s been sharpened, expanded, and elevated. It’s familiar, but undeniably grown - a tangible testament to how far the band have come.

A tender slow-burn, "Wrapped Around Embroidery" showcases the band’s ability to pivot from rock anthems to vulnerable ballads without losing their identity. The ending, especially, is a vocal triumph.

Track 6, "By Miraculous Design", also previously released as a surprise-single, shifts the spotlight to a more vulnerable register than the previous two singles, but it’s a vulnerability that feels earned and deeply compelling. It feels almost cinematic in its melody, a kind of slow-blooming arrangement that feels both intimate and grand. A sweet confessional song to dance to, with the people who stay with you long after the party is over.

The closing song, "There's A Few Of Us Still Here" had big shoes to fill. "The Breaks" from Part 1 was perfectly chosen to finish the record off with a bang. But so was this! It ties the entire record together while still leaving you hungry enough to hit play again. They have a gift for endings that feel like beginnings.

It feels impossible not to compare Part 1 and Part 2 - but doing so feels reductive. What Balancing Act have crafted is one beautiful debut record, split into two parts that only amplified the momentum. Together, they form a debut that’s confident, and brimming with identity. Balancing Act have produced something truly special here.

Go have a listen, see for yourself, and become enamoured with a band that deserves every ounce of attention.
