Night Out at Bleech 9:3

When the announcement for Bleech 9:3’s little European tour dropped it was out of the question that I was 1 – going to be there and 2 – more than willing to travel. After seeing them open for Keo, there was absolutely no doubt about either of those things.

And it was entirely worth it. Bleech 9:3 command a room like no other, and getting a German crowd moving the way they did is genuinely special. Berlin’s Privatclub stopped feeling like a small venue the moment the lights dropped. It became an accumulation of bodies, sweat, and a pit full of people who came ready to leave everything they had on the floor.

Opening the night were Spanish Horses, who deserve a proper shoutout for warming up the room with ease. Lovely tunes, a drummer who was impossible to look away from, and a set that made me wonder why I hadn’t been listening to them already. God bless the opening slot!

Then Bleech 9:3 walked onstage, hit the ground running with Jacky, and Baz was already in the crowd before the first chorus. That was the moment I knew the night was about to go feral. From the second the gig began, the energy was through the roof.

Personal highlights were the unreleased tracks: My System, Lowboy, and of course Tourniquet (my favourite Bleech track, as seen in our EP review – justice remains pending). Hearing them live felt like being let in on a secret. The kind of songs that make you want to grab the nearest person and yell, “Do you hear this”?!

The band gave 100% – no pacing themselves, no holding back. They sounded absolutely incredible, and it cemented what feels increasingly obvious: they’re going to be playing huge venues in no time. Bleech 9:3 are built for scale. No matter where or with whom, you will have a good time at one of their gigs.
